Kashi Gaya & Prayagraj
// Day 1 //
Prayagraj
Prayagraj, also known as the sacred Sangam, boasts a rich historical legacy dating back centuries. It is revered as the ‘Tirth Raj’ or the king of all pilgrimage centers in India. Mentioned extensively in the Epics, Vedas, and Puranas, Prayagraj sits at the confluence of three holy rivers—Ganga, Yamuna, and the mythical Saraswati—forming the sacred Triveni Sangam Prayagraj.
This divine Sangam hosts numerous fairs, festivals, and rituals throughout the year, attracting pilgrims from across India for pind daan, Narayan Bali Puja, asthi visarjan, Shradh puja, vedic pooja, Hindu puja, and other vedic rituals. Millions of devotees come during Kumbh Mela Prayagraj to take a holy dip in the waters of the Sangam, witness live Ganga Aarti Prayagraj, participate in Ganga puja, and engage in online pooja services and puja rituals online.
Upon arrival, visitors often head to Shiv Mutt for traditional rituals, including the Vapanam shaving ceremony, followed by a bath in the Triveni—the sacred confluence of the three rivers. Pilgrims visiting Prayagraj can explore the significance of Triveni Sangam, perform puja varanasi-style rituals, engage in Shradh rituals, and immerse themselves in Sanatana Hindu Dharma and Hindu vedic practices, making Prayagraj one of the most important pilgrimage destinations in India.

Kashi
Varanasi, also known as Kashi or Banaras, stands as one of India’s oldest and holiest cities, whether called Varanasi Kashi Banaras, Banaras in India, or Benares India. Devout Indians aspire to undertake the Kashi Yatra—a pilgrimage to this sacred place—at least once in their lifetime. Kashi holds spiritual and historical allure, where vedic rituals, Hindu puja, pind daan, Narayan Bali Puja, and Shradh puja are performed to honor departed souls. Traditionally, these puja rituals take place along riverbanks, including iconic ghats like Assi Ghat in Varanasi and Kashi Ghat Varanasi, with the Ganga being the most revered. Performing these rites on the banks of the Ganga in Kashi during live Ganga Aarti Varanasi or Ganga puja carries profound spiritual significance.
Kashi is not only a place of salvation but also liberation from the cycle of birth and death. Having endured life’s hardships, few wish to be reborn repeatedly. In ancient times, elderly individuals embarked on the Kashi Yatra, walking all the way to Kashi from their homes, seeking salvation through their final moments there. Most never returned to their places of origin.
The primary purpose of this pilgrimage is to perform rituals and visit temples such as Viswanath, Visalakshi, and Annapoorni. With numerous temples, Kashi is rightly called the City of Temples. Immersing in the Ganges and participating in the Triveni Sangam, along with prayers at Viswanath and Visalakshi Temples, purifies our souls and paves the way for Moksha. Notably, the Ganga Pooja remains a daily highlight in Kashi.”

Gaya
According to tradition, it is believed that Lord Brahma performed the first Pind Daan at Gaya, and this sacred practice has endured through the ages. Emphasized in the Puranas, performing Shraddha Puja at Gaya, including pind daan in Gaya, is considered essential, ideally done at least once in a lifetime.
The priest (purohit/vadhyar) explains the rituals and significance of Gaya Shraddha, as well as online puja services and Vedic puja performed at home. Detailed instructions on ancestral rites at Gaya Kshetra can be found in the Vayu Purana. By offering pind daan and Narayan Bali Puja to our ancestors, it is believed their souls attain salvation, making Gaya Pind Daan one of the most important pilgrimage experiences in India.
